I walk through the stores in Seattle, a predominantly liberal city, and on the rare occasions that I wear my NRA hat I get some unusual reactions.
I see women take a second look and with a wild look in their eyes hoping for some escape route. I observe the turned up nose of men who look as though they have just seen a dead rat suddenly appear on their dinner plate.
Maybe one day I will mount the courage to ask them what the problem seems to be. Do they have a problem with someone who supports and defends the Constitution?
I am sure that they will say something to the effect that NRA supporters and gun owners are the reason that people get killed in gang violence; although, funny enough, I have never seen a gang-banger at the range or with an NRA hat.
I wonder if the people I see in the store are afraid of people with ACLU shirts yelling “fire” in a crowded theater.
It takes no courage to support gun bans, it takes courage to stand up and say “I will defend myself from those who seek to do me harm! I will exercise my Second Amendment rights.”
Go Out and Exercise.
